And so we now have a new President-Elect. If you ask me, history is in the making. Right before our eyes the world is changing. We should not forget that the man we selected to run and be the face of the “free world” is just that; a man.
The Bush administration did not do all they did overnight. No. They took years before they catapulted the States into a colossal amount of debt. You must also remember that all the damage done was caused by multiple people, and not one man alone.
We cannot place all our dreams and hopes into one person. This is unreasonable. We may be in for a big disappointment if we do. Seriously – “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Y’all can hope and wish all you want – just remember – he is one man.

Okay, maybe I came off a bit too strong and very uninformed in my last post. To quote a man whom I’ve never met, but have a lot of respect for “your blog post is shallow and utterly devoid of anything that I’d consider critical thinking.” With that being said, here is why I think you’re an idiot for supporting McCain…
- McCain voted YES on reauthorizing the Patriot act
- The Patriot Act is probably the one worst thing about America. I don’t care what your personal view is on it. The simple fact that it allows government intrusion on our lives is more than enough to go against it. If you still disagree, give it a read. I promise that once you’ve realized what limitations it really poses on your freedoms, you might share my conclusion…
- Opponents of the bill say to vote NAY because:
- We can fight terrorism aggressively without compromising our most fundamental freedoms against Government intrusion. The Government grabbed powers it should not have when it passed the original PATRIOT Act and we should not be ratifying that power grab today. The PATRIOT Act reauthorization conference report is flawed. S. 2271 pretends to fix it but I don’t think anyone is fooled, least of all our constituents.
- Because the Republican leadership obstructed efforts to improve the bill, the “police state” provisions regarding gag orders remain uncorrected. The Senate should get down to the serious business of legislating real fixes to the PATRIOT Act.
- McCain voted YES on extending the Patriot Act’s wiretap provision
- McCain scores a 0% by SANE on peace issues.
- “I can’t support the legalization of marijuana. Scientific evidence indicates that the moment that it enters your body, one, it does damage, and second, it can become addictive. It is a gateway drug.” – Senator John McCain Republican Debate at Dartmouth College Oct 29, 1999
If that quote isn’t the biggest crock of shit — I don’t know what is. Scientific evidence indicates that marijuana is not a physically addictive substance.
Alright… I know that I’ve only listed 4 reasons, but I hope it at least shows you that I don’t pull my opinions out of my ass…
For the sake of making things interesting — I welcome any one of you to write a guest post on the election. Advancement can’t come from one person alone…
