The Most You’ll Ever Know

boxafella » 29 June 2008 » In Blog, Rantings » 2 Comments

I suppose that fair is fair. The same way men have their expectations for their future wife, women must have some for their prospective mates as well. What I don’t fully understand is why is it when a man wants something similar to a “house wife” he all of a sudden becomes chauvinist?

As a Muslim male, I grew up and my mom was always at home. My mom would be the poster image of a housewife. I have nothing against women who work, nor do I oppose women who seek higher education. I applaud and encourage such things. I have 2 sisters, you know. Both of whom I love dearly. I want for them what I’d want for myself. Security, happiness and education.

I want a woman who will care for me. I want to feel nurtured, loved and wanted. No, I want to feel needed. Don’t get me wrong.. This isn’t “just about what I want.” This just is.

I want a girl who is smart. Someone who can hold their end of a conversation. A girl who can put me in my place when I’m wrong, but encourage me when I’m right. I want her support more than anything. When I come home after a long days work, I want to be greeted by the one I love.

I don’t want to take the backseat to anything. I want to be considered in her eyes, as important as I feel she is to me. I want to be pushed into the right direction. I don’t want to be belittled or tossed aside. I believe that the duty of a man is to provide shelter, food and other such necessities. I also believe it to be the responsibility of the man to help around the house when he can, but not be reprimanded when he can’t. I want a woman who is going to understand that a lot of energy goes into a hard days work.

My ideal wife would go to school with me. We’d maybe have a class or two together. Hold off on kids until we graduate. She would share some of my interests, but doesn’t have to share them all. I want a companion. A partner. A best friend. Most of all, I want someone patient.

My entire life hasn’t been about what I want, or what I need. Nor has it been about how I want to attain it. It’s always been about family, and my family comes first. So is it wrong for me to at least have some kind of imagery as to what I’d like the rest of my days to be like?

I plan on building the grandest Mosque America has ever seen. I want to build a farm where impoverished families can get a second start. I wish to begin construction projects far and wide throughout my homeland, and put some dollars in my countrymen pockets. I want a wife who wants to help me accomplish all this, as I want to help her accomplish her dreams.

I mostly want someone who will take the time to really understand me. I think I’m a pretty nice person. I wouldn’t ever expect something from someone that I wouldn’t expect of myself. I know that I’ll surely respect the wishes and dreams of my significant other; I just want her to do the same for me.

I know that I’ll be able to support and stand by her through whatever she wishes. Is it so much to want the same for myself? Basically, I want unconditional love and everything that comes along with it… Is that too much to ask for, or am I setting goals too far out of reach?

Israel

What does Israel mean to Mr. Barak Obama?

I can’t believe my ears. Well, maybe I can. Obama says that Israel and America have a lot in common, from culture to goals. Israel is an illegitimate state amidst countries who have been there far longer than her. America fully supports everything Israel does. Israel’s idea of “peace” in the Middle East is to bullshit their way through conferences and occupy more Palestinian land and households.

Up until now, Israel is a state that suffers no consequence and does as it pleases. What other country in the Middle East can commit so many war crimes and get away with it? Oh, they can’t… Just Israel.

Right, hate on the Arabs… Use American made M14’s and shoot American sponsored bullets at the lowly Arabs who are armed with a few small pebbles…

You think Israel really wants to live peacefully amongst the Arabs? Nah. Not likely. I’m not going to say that every person in the state of Israel is in agreement with the actions of their country -- but that doesn’t change what their country is going for. One day on CNN I’ll hear that America coerced Israel into a “truce” with the Arabs, and the next day there’s a tank or bulldozer leveling Palestinian homes.

Israel was, no, is supposed to be slowly evacuating Palestinian occupied territory. Do you know what Israel is doing instead? Occupying more and more of it. They aren’t leaving. They aren’t leaving the Palestinians alone. They don’t plan on it. But God forbid you say that they’re in the wrong… No, that’s anti-Semitic and the Arabs are a bunch of terrorists anyway…

Israel is a state of oppressors and terrorists. Killing off anyone who they please and calling it collateral damage. Instigating fights and claiming they were attacked. Tyrannical tendencies and twisted thoughts. I take back my show of support for Obama. Don’t vote for anyone -- and see how and where your next leader will take you.

Ever since I was a young lad, I’ve been told that I have great potential. Never have I been certain as to what they meant. Maybe I’m destined to be another D. Trump… Maybe not.

I have decided that it is time to branch off and explore my own options. I recently placed an ad on CraigsList advertising handyman type services and have received a rather pleasing number of responses… At first, I wasn’t sure how people would respond to someone my age in the works of opening up a construction company – but you’d be surprised as to how open minded people are.

Maybe they’re just cheap… Who knows? Who cares? I most certainly do not. I have six years of experience – so it isn’t like they’re hiring a total “newb.” Since my experience is less than 10 years, I don’t think it’d be proper to charge people the same amount a seasoned professional would, either.

What came over me, and prompted me to post the ad is still beyond me. It was almost involuntary. I suppose if I factor in the weekend and how bored I’ve been lately; I’d be able to come up with a few answers.. But it’s been done.

In all fairness, bartering services sometimes can be way more helpful than purchasing. Take for example my first customer: This lady owns an advertising medium and needs some rooms painted in her house. She wants to trade me services at 1:1 value. Fair enough. I paint 3 rooms and do a little labor; She designs my ad and plasters it in 900,000 homes. If I can get 1 decent contract for either myself or my father through the means of painting a few rooms — then ultimately it’s worth every ounce of sweat.

Keeping busy and making money isn’t easy… I do wish they had taught us that in school; and maybe prepared us better as entrepreneurs rather than brainwashed Neanderthals (I am not referring to the masses, just generalizing.)

Anyways, there you have it. Updates and posts may lack – but blame it on life. Shit happens. :-)

McCain

Okay, maybe I came off a bit too strong and very uninformed in my last post. To quote a man whom I’ve never met, but have a lot of respect for “your blog post is shallow and utterly devoid of anything that I’d consider critical thinking.” With that being said, here is why I think you’re an idiot for supporting McCain…

  1. McCain voted YES on reauthorizing the Patriot act
    1. The Patriot Act is probably the one worst thing about America. I don’t care what your personal view is on it. The simple fact that it allows government intrusion on our lives is more than enough to go against it. If you still disagree, give it a read. I promise that once you’ve realized what limitations it really poses on your freedoms, you might share my conclusion…
    2. Opponents of the bill say to vote NAY because:
      1. We can fight terrorism aggressively without compromising our most fundamental freedoms against Government intrusion. The Government grabbed powers it should not have when it passed the original PATRIOT Act and we should not be ratifying that power grab today. The PATRIOT Act reauthorization conference report is flawed. S. 2271 pretends to fix it but I don’t think anyone is fooled, least of all our constituents.
      2. Because the Republican leadership obstructed efforts to improve the bill, the “police state” provisions regarding gag orders remain uncorrected. The Senate should get down to the serious business of legislating real fixes to the PATRIOT Act.
  2. McCain voted YES on extending the Patriot Act’s wiretap provision
  3. McCain scores a 0% by SANE on peace issues.
  4. “I can’t support the legalization of marijuana. Scientific evidence indicates that the moment that it enters your body, one, it does damage, and second, it can become addictive. It is a gateway drug.” – Senator John McCain Republican Debate at Dartmouth College Oct 29, 1999

If that quote isn’t the biggest crock of shit — I don’t know what is. Scientific evidence indicates that marijuana is not a physically addictive substance.

Alright… I know that I’ve only listed 4 reasons, but I hope it at least shows you that I don’t pull my opinions out of my ass…

For the sake of making things interesting — I welcome any one of you to write a guest post on the election. Advancement can’t come from one person alone…

This Election

boxafella » 08 June 2008 » In Blog, Rantings » 2 Comments

Save the Drama, Vote Obama! So, Hillary Clinton backed out of the campaign… Like any good loser, she did so with dignity. I myself, was supporting Clinton; and now it seems that I should focus my support behind Obama. How many of you really know what McCain is about? Seriously, I mean if you guys want another 4 years of Bush-ish tendencies, then by all means… Support McCain..

But seriously, if you do, you’re an idiot. That’s my opinion on it. The man is not only old, but he’s a Republican. These past 8 years haven’t exactly been fruitful. This old bugger is wrong for presidency. I ran across this page, and thought it was funny.. Did you know that McCain is older than the peanut butter and jelly sandwich? Bob Dylan. Ralph Lauren. Even the margarita is younger than McCain! Do we want a prehistoric thoughts rule our country?

If I know one thing about America, it’s about modernism. Improving things, and focusing on the future… What can we expect for the future from a man who is about to DIE? The young are the future. I hate to say this… But Obama is the future. Wake up, people! It urks me to say it; but it had to be said.

Out of boredom, I made the following:

And there you have it… Oh, also I updated the About page today, but included it in yesterday’s list of updates below. Deuce.

The Truth

boxafella » 07 June 2008 » In Blog, Everything Else, Rantings » No Comments

You’d think it to be something earned through conversation; right? Wrong. The truth is something we all fear, I suppose. No one wants to get hurt, no one wants the be upset… So why do we cover up the truth? I don’t know. We just do. People are vial creatures. We have no remorse for others, and mostly empathize with ourselves. Are we that self-centered?

I meet you, we talk. We spend a lot of time talking. I leave; Thinking that we hit it off… I never hear from you again.

Had there been truth, we probably wouldn’t have spent so much time talking – as it would have been a complete waste of my efforts to try and woo you with intellect. We end the conversation with the presumption that it will be picked up the next day; And here we are, a few days later…

I’m tweaking the imagery a bit to better fit my person. It’s going to take a while, and I may not even get past the header… I haven’t had much spare time lately, so I’m going to do what I can, when I can.

Anyways, I haven’t had anything blog-worthy, so sorry for the lack of updates..
